As I already stated writing was hardly compatible with me or me with it. I always had a difficult time when writing. I remember when I was in elementary school my parents would always tell me to "read the book and than you go college", and I would try to but eventually find myself yawning until my eyes slowly shut. Than my mom or dad would come and wake me up and tell me to read again. Well, that was back in the day, and I hardly remember anything back then..... So I'll travel a little further to the more recent past..... Some of the most profound events in my writing career took place in high school. Most of my writing journey was negative. Right before I became a freshman in high school, I had to select course that I was going to take for that year. I chose all the required courses but when the first day of school came I had a totally different schedule. I was put in foundations of english and literature (or something like that) and I was unable to switch it. So in the end result I had to take that trivial class and than go to summer school to take english I which was a required course to move on to the next grade level. The summer course was about 10 weeks and I got through it and thankfully past it with a 4...But the funny thing is I wasn't upset or looked down when I had to go through that trial, I just remembered a quote on how challenges are used to make you grow. and.....Ohh It's about that that time and I'll try to finish this piece later.
I thought it was interesting how we were getting told about the summer classes and the courses you were taking but I kind of feel like your thought process just stopped.... Not really sure why, so my only criticism would be to kind of complete the whole thought before you just end your post. Other than that I thought the story was very informative.
ReplyDeleteHey! I liked how you told us about your struggles and how family life has affected your outlook on writing. You have overcome so many obstacles just to get to where you are in college, I think its great! Keep on persevering! Hard work always pays off in the end! :)
ReplyDeleteI understand where you are coming from with your struggles with writing. I have struggled all through high school, but my senior year really helped me. When you said that challenges make you grow I think that's why you went to that summer class, to help you grow as a writer. And you passed with a four so you must have gotten better at it. Just keep working on your writing and you will continue to grow!

Oh wow! I can't believe that happened to you. It is amazing to me how bureaucracy screws things up and then people feel like they can't do something about it. It sounds like you found the silver lining.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar style like you, where I am not a fan of writing and my dad is always tells me to read a book it will hhelp, so I try to more often, because it really does help
ReplyDeleteI agree that most of my most significant experiences with writing happened when I was in high school. I think it's great that you were able to take the bad experience and make it good! I always feel like the way we chose the handle experiences like that are what made us into the people we are today. I probably would have just been really angry that I had to be in summer school, and I probably wouldn't have done too well in the class haha.
ReplyDeleteAlso-I really like your blog!
